The (First of Many) 2008 Lists. What did we learn?

Inspired by the folks over at MentalFloss, here is my list of questions for you. Feel free to reply in the comments.
1. What's the most interesting book or article you read in 2008?
2. What's the best food you tried for the first time in 2008?
3. What's a new hobby you picked up in 2008?
4. When you look back at 2008 five years from now, what's the first thing that will come to mind?
5. Forget New Year's Resolutions. What is one thing you are currently doing that you plan to continue doing in the next year?

My answers:
1. Fodor's Guide to New York City. (The fact that I can't think of any off the top of my head makes me think that writing books down would be a good idea.)
2. Roasted Eggplant Pizza at John's Pizzeria in NYC.
3. Knitting
4. What is....Jeopardy?
5. blogging of course!

1. There was an article on Foxnews one day about a gorilla mom whose baby died and she wouldn't stop carrying around her dead baby, so she was walking around her cage with a baby gorilla carcass on her back. It had something to do with the gorilla grieving process. Hey--you asked for the most interesting, not the most enriching.
2.Lamb --at P.F. Changs. Yummy! I had no idea something so cute could taste so good.
3. I wish I had picked up a new hobby, but I didn't.
4. So many things will come to mind, but probably the very first one will be that it was the year I got pregnant with our first child.
5. I'd like to keep cooking!

1. I read an article a couple of days ago about a study done in Australia (I think) that showed that children read more when they see their parents spending time reading. It showed that children of both genders read significantly more when the parent of their gender read in front of them for at least 50 minutes at one time every day.
2. Augustine Family Sausage...Tastes Just Like It Was Made By Some Crazy Cajuns
3. Learning to read Braille both visually and with my fingers. (what is the adverbial form of tactile anyway?)
4. My first baby!
5. Drinking orange juice. (Working just sounded so boring, but I really don't do much else right now, maybe after the holidays)

Now,

2. Grape Nuts. Weird, I know.
3. Collecting all the Patricia Veryan books
4. I won't remember a thing, but it should be, "Oh, that's the year we spent five months in England."
5. Trying to eat healthfully. And reading a lot.
