New Year, New Start: Day 14

clip_image002clip_image002[4]Today’s task won’t take long, I promise. Walk into your closet and find one item of clothing that no longer fits. Let it go. Throw it out. You are too wonderful to let a pair of pants beat you up and hold you hostage because “you might fit into them someday.” Who’s in charge here anyway? Does that free t-shirt from 20  years ago reflect who you are now and who you are becoming? Think about it: This is the place where you begin your day. Why start your morning by feeling like even your clothes are out to get you? If you need permission, here it is!

Howdy
I just saw you on the Texas Blogging Gals :)
Blessings to you and yours.
I loved your post.
I am a big advocate for letting those things go that are no longer a part of our functional wardrobe.
Donate them so someone who really needs them can put them to use .
I am so glad I rode over to check out your blog it is fabulous.
Have a great evening .
Happy Trails

A year and a half ago, I threw out all my clothes that didn't fit just right.

I had to go shopping!

It had been a long time since I had paid attention to my wardrobe.

I continue to be thankful that I did this!

Check! Dave got into the act, too (he is loving these little forays into organization!) Off to the resale store with a dress and several shirts which, I'm happy to say, are too big for me...

I never thought of being held hostage by clothin before, but I suppose you're right! It does feel good to clean out the closet anyway.

If I don't show up at church on Sunday, will you come get me out of the bottom of the pile that is my closet????? I need badly to do this, and actually have a donation truck coming by tomorrow, so I will for sure get four or five items out and ready for the donation truck! Thanks, my friend!

My rule is that if I purchase a new item of clothing, an old item has to hit the road.
