Junk food, junk science, junk yard, junk… how about junk mail? If someone showed up at your doorstep and offered to dump a load of garbage in your foyer, would you invite them in with open arms? Yet how much unsolicited paper comes our way each day and we think we “owe” it the time of day. I’m all for etiquette and good manners, but not when it comes to paper-invasion. When you pick up your mail today, stand next to your trash can and get used to sending the uninvited guests right back outside.

I scrolled through and read lots of these great tips.
I totally drop lots of our mail right in the recycling bin. I do bring some junk like credit card offers and credit card promo checks in the house and shred them.
I've loved all your tips. Actually trying to use them. This one is an easy one for me. I always throw away junk mail, after making sure there is no info on any of it, if so I shred. Wish I had all the money used for postage and other cost involved, we could all have a good time...

I often sort through the mail on the way from the mailbox to our outdoor recycling bin and toss it before I walk back in my front door.
I used to write 'Return to Sender - Refused' on it, but then learned that it doesn't go back; instead, the post office throws it away.
