A Month of Chocolate: Just Open the Box Already!

11
I admit it. I am a chocolate snob. I have paid big bucks for the good stuff (Scharffenberger, Valrhona) and driven to Central Market to find it. Other times.... Duncan Hines it is! For those of you who could use an easy recipe, enjoy.
German Chocolate Cookie Bars
Base
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 stick butter
1 egg
Combine all ingredients until crumbly. Set aside 2 cups. Press remaining mixture in bottom of greased 9 x 13 pan.
Filling
2 eggs
8 oz. cream cheese
1 can ready-to-spread coconut pecan frosting
Combine filling ingredients and pour over base. Top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Serve warm or cool; store in refrigerator.

Hi, so nice to meet you. I love chocolate. I went to Walgreens yesterday during lunch and bought a Milky Way candy bar. I ate that candy like I was a chocolate junkie. It is embarassing but I don't even think I stopped to take the wrapper off...LOL. I also LOVE rocky road ice cream.

That's okay. I am a coffee snob. It's gotta be good or I won't drink it. I only let it sit on the burner for 5 minutes or less. I prefer fresh ground, fine, and brewed for exactly 4 minutes. I can smell the beans and know if I will like the coffee.

Oh, it's terrible, terrible. My family calls me the "freshness princess". And I deserve it.

I hope you'll stop by The Moonboat and tell me about your snow stats. I want to hear about the weather from all my bloggy friends.

You and my mom both are chocolate snobs. Me? whatever's on sale. :) I know, I have "much to learn".
