Rodeo Report - More

I still have more to say! Since I'm not quite as tired as I was when I posted last night, here's more:
*Stalking the fried oreos was a bust. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of roaming the carnival area just for a few (ok a LOT) of calories. Steve and I shared a BBQ plate from Goode Co. that was truly yummy. One place had, I kid you not, "Chicken Fried Bacon", but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
*On the fashion scene: Precious little itty-bitty-baby-boots. In pink! Next year the grandbabies will have to have rodeo duds. The younger, much thinner, gals were wearing some micro-minis with their boots. Not a look I care to copy. Quite a few ladies wore the knit, empire-waist, longer tops with their jeans. Cute! As far as the guys...same ol' same ol': Wranglers, creased and stacked. Have you heard the story about the time George Strait had a photo shoot, and was instructed to bring a couple of outfits? He brought 2 pair of Wranglers and 2 starched white shirts. :-)
*Shopping! Yes, you can buy everything from horse trailers (we didn't), trips to a Caribbean island (full of cowboys? Maybe that's where Kenny Chesney hangs out), and mixes for soups and dips (we did!). The cowhide rugs, turquoise jewelry, and John Wayne lunchboxes were fun to look at.
*Cutest little buckaroos ever: Have you heard of "Mutton Bustin'"? Little 5 year olds hang on to a sheep for dear life and try to hang on. Yes, FIVE year olds! Sure they were wearing helmets and yes they didn't have far to fall, but I couldn't help but wonder "What on earth were their parents thinking???"
*The concert. I've seen Trace in smaller venues and those are still the best. Still, it's nice to see him hit the big time and he proved himself up to the challenge of singing in that enormous space. If you get the chance to see the video for "You're Gonna Miss This" you'll see his hometown of Sarepta, Louisiana. Sweet moment at the end where he drives up to the house and gives his dad a big hug.

What does "stacked" mean, in reference to jeans and such?

Clueless in Western (ha!) PA

so next year we can expect little Emmie to be sporting pink cowboy boots and a micro mini skirt? Cute!

Cindy, "stacked" refers to buying jeans with extra length in the inseam so that they still keep the boot covered when riding. When not riding, the extra fabric "stacks" up on top of the boot.
